the kazey & bulldog picture disc is followed by the first d2s release from our hero rod lee - a baltimore legend in his own right and in our eyes the no. 1 club producer, bar none. this super aggro dude has serious issues. he just needs to open his mouth and kids cry flames. for his first d2s release, rod commits re-mastered versions of two of our favourite cuts produced by the man. we first heard >understand< when we scored a bunch of scottie bs ebay auctions, and to this day its one of the best baltimore tracks ive ever heard. you can play this sh*t anywhere and the crowd just freaks out. hip hop heads love it, techno heads love it, even your girlfriend loves it. we coupled it with rods simple but ultra effective remix of the eurythmics classic, >sweet dreams<. when the catch an attitude tour dropped in on our club in glasgow, a-trak dropped this beast for all of 30 seconds and people went nuts. bannanas even. you could argue that the eurythmics remix thing is overdone and outdated, but if you did so, wed know for sure you hadnt heard rods version. anyway... we tracked it down and got it on the flip, so really this is more like a double a. both cuts are re-mastered (but still raw like the day they were made) and cut loud on heavy 12inch vinyl

kicking off 2008 with something fresh and new from a brand new signing to the label. first up this year on re:connect is a full on vocal led breaks monster from the genius pairing of australians karl sav and nikita. the original version is up first, a full-vocal affair with crisp but meaty beats, a tasty buzzing bassline, and searing synth lines. remaining a little more laid back to start with, this one builds and builds throughout and is certainly one to get the ladies moving on the dancefloor. on the flipside comes a stomping 4×4 remix from fellow australian dopamine who strips back the vocal to its main elements, adds a pounding beat and twisting bassline to great effect. this ones for all you crossover breaks/house fans out there!

a very special compost release with two very rare tracks! the a-side features a great remix of beanfields >tides< with amazing vocals from bajka - of course its not quite up there with the unbelievable carl craig mix but then that would be an uphill struggle. ripperton from the lazy fat people adds his moody, deep slant to the track, less anthemic than carl craig but a more than welcome alternative. this mix was available for a short time as bootleg with ricardo villaloboss remix of depeche modes >sinner in me< on the flip and sold out quickly despite the poor sound quality. finally, one year later, this great tune sees it official release completely remasterd in chrystal clear sound - get it, play it, love it! in 2006 the duo tom wieland and marc frank - better known as 7 samurai - crafted a fine remix of invisible sessions under their panoptikum moniker. when michael reinboth considered this remix for his new future sounds of jazz compilation the guys decided to contribute even a little bit more: an excusive new version which became a definitely highlight of the whole compilation. the panoptikum 2007 remix surprisingly takes a leaf out of innervisions book for a smooth deep houser with a slighty techy sound and a touch of detroit in the vein of Âme or henrik schwarz. in contrast to the vocal version included on fsoj this 12inch features the trippy instrumental version. ace stuff! two must have tracks - all killer, no filler!
